CAMPHILL COMMUNITIES IN ABERDEEN
Beannachar Community
Beannachar is a Camphill Community situated in countryside on the edge of
Aberdeen. It comprises a large 19th century house and two purpose-built houses.
There are also workshops for weaving, wool processing, woodwork, rug making,
leatherwork, laundry and herb processing. A large walled garden, a farm, a sports
area and extensive woodland make up the 28 acres of ground.

Camphill School Aberdeen
Camphill School Aberdeen is a community of around 350 people. It provides a full
range of services for children and young people aged one to twenty five with
additional support needs: residential school placements, day school placements,
therapeutic programmes, young adult programmes for 16 to 25 year olds (both day
and residential), craft and land workshops, individual therapies, nursery provision,
respite, external training and nature nurture activities.
Programmes are set up according to individual needs and in partnership with
families and local authorities. The approach adopted is holistic and strength based
and focused on valuing individual potential, respecting differences and promoting
positive relationships between people.

Camphill Scotland
Camphill Scotland is the membership body for the 11 Camphill communities in
Scotland. Together, these communities support around 600 people with learning
disabilities and other support needs, ranging from children to older people.

Newton Dee Camphill Community
Newton Dee is a charity based in Aberdeen, Scotland. Co-workers (live in volunteers)
and Villagers (adults with special needs) live together here. The charity does not just
provide houses, but builds homes together, in a mutually supportive environment.
Life is not just about a home; it is also about meaningful work. Training is provided
in a supportive work environments. Work is seen as an essential part of anyone's
life. So whether it as a baker, a farmer, a woodworker or something else - Newton
Dee Camphill Community helps to support all of community members to reach their
fullest potential.

Simeon Care
Simeon Care is a care home for the elderly nursing up to 23 older people. It has
supported older people to live an active, meaningful, and purposeful life since 1984.
Simeon offers a small home and a care model that can adapt to meet the physical,
social, mental, and spiritual needs of our residents.

Tigh a Chomainn is a Camphill community with over 30 years’ experience providing
specialist independent care to adults with complex needs including learning
difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions and disabilities.
